• Wear the girdle for the first three (3) days.  DO NOT TAKE IT OFF.  We have put a small gauze sponge directly over your incision site.  You may change this if there is a drainage.

• After the first three (3) days have passed, you may take the girdle off to bathe and wash out the girdle.  You may leave it off long enough for it to air dry, if necessary.  Do this for two (2) weeks.

• After the two weeks period wear the girdle for 12 hours per day for (1) month.

• You may begin to exercise on the first day after your surgery, if you so desire.

• Bruising and swelling are normal results of this procedure and can remain for several weeks.  Some drainage can be expected for 2-3 days.

• If you feel that you are experiencing a problem or something extraordinary and are concerned about it call the doctor.
